I am a consultant, award-winning author, and trainer. I work with schools, colleges, universities, charities, and businesses to support them in creating spaces which are more emotionally honest, equitable, and inclusive for all people. My work is varied and bespoke to each setting, but broadly it fits into these four categories.
Much of my work focuses on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in education. I facilitate training, speak on panels, and given keynote talks in a variety of contexts - mostly working with schools, colleges, universities, and charities.
My specialism within DEI work is LGBT+ equity and inclusion. I have been involved in conversations about LGBT+ inclusive educational spaces for several years through my work with Pride & Progress - and I use this expertise in my education, training, and consultation support.
Within LGBT+ inclusion broadly, I offers support specifically focused on trans and non-binary awarnesss & inclusion. I combine my own lived experience as a trans person, with theory and lesgislation, to create an empathetic educational conversation to help people become better allies and support trans+ identities.
An Emotionally Honest Spaces offers school visits which include:
Year group, key stage, or whole school author visit assemblies
Bottled Book class workshops, exploring six key conversations
Staff training on how to conciously construct emotionally honest spaces
As of September 2024, I am a PhD Researcher at the University of Strathclyde. My research will explore the use and usefulness of LGBT+ Staff Networks in Education. If you'd like to discuss this research, please contact me.
